Saudi Arabia Scholarships For Muslim Students

These programs offer undergraduate and graduate students generous scholarships to conduct study in non-traditional countries especially critical needs areas like Saudi Arabia. Students are required to be enrolled in programs that immerse them in language more akin to the vernacular, or common language, versus formal training. The more culturally significant the studies, the better and students who have the opportunity to live with a family, called a home stay, fare even better with these awards. The hitch for these full-tuition scholarships is the service requirement following graduation. Recipients must be willing to trade a year of scholarship for year of service with the Department of Homeland Security or the National Security Agency. Also there is a paid internship required during the course of the program.

Free Education in National Security Education Program

The well-known scholarships funded by the National Security Education Program are collectively called the Boren Scholarships. Saudi arabia scholarships for international study

Another federally funded critical need scholarship is the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship. Designed for severely financially disadvantaged students, the Gilman scholarships are similar to the Boren awards in that students may receive whopping scholarships for international study in critical needs areas of the world, which includes students pursuing programs in Saudi Arabia. Students must be engaged in international study for at least a month to qualify and must also be receiving Pell Grants to be considered for the Gilman awards. Preference is given to students of minority backgrounds or those with disabilities. The significant difference between these and the Boren Scholarships is that the Gilman Scholars are chosen on the basis of disadvantage with the goal of encouraging and supporting students not likely to have the privilege of these opportunities under normal circumstances.

    Saudi oil productions

Where this book does become rather interesting lies in what happens if you grant the author his basic argument about current and likely future Saudi oil productions rates. If the author is right, then it means the Saudis no longer have any real ability to increase the production rates. This may begin to explain why whenever everyone starts blaming the Saudis for high gas prices, they never increase their supply and blame refiners instead. Certainly, refiners may be the bottleneck, but Saudi Arabia may also be unable to boost production to assuage public criticism. Twilight in the Desert is an interesting read, especially for someone interested in oil production, world resource issues, or just general engineering problems. However, it is not for the faint of heart and is certainly not a quick read.

Crude oil and natural gas in Saudi arabia

Most geologists view crude oil, like coal and natural gas, as the product of compression and heating of ancient vegetation over geological time scales. According to this theory, it is formed from the decayed remains of prehistoric marine animals and terrestrial plants. Over many centuries this organic matter, mixed with mud, is buried under thick sedimentary layers of material. The resulting high levels of heat and pressure cause the remains to metamorphose, first into a waxy material known as kerogen, and then into liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons in a process known as catagenesis. These then migrate through adjacent rock layers until they become trapped underground in porous rocks called reservoirs, forming an oil field, from which the liquid can be extracted by drilling and pumping. 150 m is generally considered the "oil window". Though this corresponds to different depths for different locations around the world, a 'typical' depth for an oil window might be 4 - 5 km. Three conditions must be present for oil reservoirs to form: a rich source rock, a migration conduit, and a trap (seal) that forms the reservoir.

    Saudi Oil and World Economy

The Coming Saudi Oil Shock and the World Economy, Matthew Simmons believes it is very likely that Saudi Arabia’s oil production rate has already peaked or will peak shortly and will then face sharp declines. Everyone believes that Saudi Arabia is sitting on massive oil reserves, but few people ever actually see specific production data to really understand just how much oil is flowing out of Saudi Arabia. For example, Ghawar, Saudi Arabia’s primary oil field, is the greatest oil-bearing structure the world has ever known. Through the last half of the 20th century, Ghawar has produced over 55 billion barrels of oil, almost 60 percent of Saudi Arabia’s total output. Saudi Arabia’s five major secondary fields are still impressive giants in their own right but still can’t keep up with the prolific production of Ghawar.

Supreme Council of Family Affair in Saudi arabia

Violence against Women in Saudi arabia

On the international day of Combating Violence against Women,  Gulf Times and the Peninsular published reports on the symposium held by the Supreme Council for Family Affairs at the Millennium Hotel to mark the occasion. The Symposium was addressed by Kaltham al-Ghanem of the Social Department at Qatar University who conducted a survey described as being the first of its kind on violence in Qatar.  In his presentation, the Supreme Council of Family Affair (SCFA) secretary general Abdulla bin Nasser al-Khalifa said that the council is considering an initiative for suggestions on policy or legislation that can contribute to the family and maintain its rights and dignity.

    Voting rights in Saudi arabia

After her book was eventually published in 2005, young women began to see Alsanea as their mouthpiece: “At one point I was getting 1,000 e-mails a day. Women who were divorced, women who were married in an arranged way and didn’t like their husbands; those who were struggling with their families were reaching out. Girls came up and hugged me and wanted to take pictures with me. All of a sudden I felt it was my duty to take care of these people.

Alsanea has received death threats by e-mail and many tried to suppress her book. At one point, black market versions of this Arabic version of Sex and the City changed hands for £300. “I didn’t think about breaking any taboos or being a rebel. I wanted to describe how people find ways to get around some of the traditions. Young women I know want to be modern, hip, stylish and fall in love, the same as women everywhere. I was never trying to cause a scandal,” she tells me over tea at the Dorchester hotel in London. Alsanea is modestly and fashionably turned out in expensive, loosely cut jeans, a white fitted jacket and a coordinating white, silken hijab. There are a couple of lightly Wagish touches – a diamond watch with a pink strap, a Gucci bag and a French manicure – but she is a class act.

    Employment in Saudi arabia

Saudi Arabia has a new minister for women. She’s 25, likes designer labels, lipstick and cars. Rajaa Alsanea is, of course, not in government, for in her country it’s not really the done thing for females to air their opinions. They are not allowed to drive, let alone have employment or voting rights. Found this article in the Times Online. I still haven’t read the book but I sure would like to get my hands on it (where can I get it?). I know some Saudis might not agree but I believe she is a pride to her country. Saudi Arabia need more girls and women like her to stand up and be counted. Not sure all the facts are right in the article though.

Voilence against women in saudi arab

Alsanea, however, has captured a vast constituency. She is a bestselling author, the only chick-lit one from the Arab world, and as such she has become a sort of spokeswoman for 21st-century Saudi women. Her book, Girls of Riyadh, about to be published in Britain by Fig Tree, tells the stories of four middle-class young women searching for love and just a little bit of fun in a suffocating culture.

It’s hardly Jilly Cooper – the references to sex are coy with lots of talk of yearning and disappointment – but with tales of the girls drinking (very small sips of Dom PĂ©rignon) and – gasp – sitting in the driver’s seat of a car, it caused a scandal. This is a country, remember, where a woman might be stoned for kissing a man in public. Alsanea has received death threats by e-mail and many tried to suppress her book. Saudi females for saudi friends

Watch girls of saudi in arab matchmaking with women of saudi arabia in our arabic dating site. Find saudi females for saudi friends or a arab bride from a dating site in saudi arabia. Arab matchmaking sites are found on the internet. Those sites are made mostly for saudi friends that want to find their soul mates for the purpose of marriage, and they have begun to be very popular within the Muslim community. It’s important not to make confusion of this term arabic dating site. A dating site in saudi arabia has another meaning, slightly different from what most westerners think of when they hear this word. That is because, as we all know, pre marital relationships are not allowed by the holy book, the Quran.
